This policy explains how information is used when you visit ITBank, interact with its publishing services or contact the publication. It distinguishes services currently operating from optional services that may be introduced later.

Who this policy covers

ITBank is a publication operated by ITBankCA, based in Scarborough, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. ITBankCA is responsible for the personal information handled through ITBank’s publishing services. This policy applies to its website and services identified here. Questions about the policy or personal information should be directed through the verified channel on our Contact page. We will not ask you to send passwords or unnecessary identity documents with an initial enquiry.

Information used to operate the website

Hosting and security services may process technical information such as an IP address, request details, browser information and access logs to deliver pages, diagnose faults and protect the service. Access to restricted pages uses ChatGPT authentication. Editor identity is used to verify publishing permissions and record editorial approval.

ITBank uses hosting provided through ChatGPT Sites. Authentication is handled through ChatGPT. The providers’ own privacy notices describe their processing in connection with those services.

Preferences and external resources

The website stores your selected light or dark theme in your browser’s local storage. This preference is used to maintain your chosen appearance; it is not an advertising profile. Clearing website storage may remove it.

Typefaces are requested from Google Fonts. Those requests disclose connection information to Google as part of delivering the font files. Following an external source link takes you to a service with its own privacy practices.

Newsletter subscriptions

Newsletter subscriptions are currently closed. No email address is collected through the unavailable signup form.

When signup is available, the form collects an email address for subscription administration and stores it using Supabase. It should collect only the information requested on the form. Delivery communications must identify their purpose and provide an unsubscribe route. We do not sell subscriber addresses.

A subscription is not permission for unrelated marketing. Any materially different use of subscription information must be explained before it begins.

Google AdSense, cookies and advertising

ITBank has installed Google AdSense technology under publisher account ca-pub-9694253688299228 for site verification and advertising setup. Installation does not mean Google has approved the site or that advertisements are being served. Ad requests are currently paused while consent and placement configuration is completed. Google Analytics 4 is configured separately and loads only after you allow analytics.

When advertising is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, local storage and other identifiers, and process IP addresses, browser and device details, page URLs and interactions to deliver, secure and measure advertising. Subject to your choices and applicable requirements, information about visits to this and other websites may be used to personalize advertising. Non-personalized advertising can still involve cookies for functions such as frequency limits and reporting.

Loading Google's script makes a connection to Google even while ad requests are paused. Existing Google cookies may be read; pausing ad requests is not a promise that no information is transmitted.

Read How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, Google's Privacy Policy and Google advertising controls.

Google Analytics and audience measurement

With your permission, ITBank uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-1V55EGGKQL) to understand page visits, readership engagement, approximate geography, devices and referral sources. Google processes technical and interaction data and uses analytics cookies to distinguish browsers and visits. These are estimates, not an exact count of people.

The Analytics tag does not load until you choose Allow analytics. Declining does not restrict access to our articles. Your choice is stored in this browser’s local storage and can be changed using Analytics choices in the footer. Withdrawing permission stops further collection by this integration and removes accessible first-party Google Analytics cookies; it does not automatically erase information already processed. Contact [email protected] about privacy requests.

Admin and API routes are excluded. Our pageview events omit URL query strings and do not send newsletter email addresses. Google Signals and advertising-personalization signals are disabled in this integration. Analytics consent does not grant advertising consent.

Consent and privacy choices

ITBank is preparing Google's certified Privacy & messaging consent solution. The consent message must be published and tested before personalized advertising is enabled for visitors in the EEA, UK or Switzerland. Where consent is required, readers must be able to accept, decline or manage the relevant purposes and providers. A theme preference or continued browsing is not advertising consent.

Use Privacy choices in the footer to reopen Google's consent message when available for your region. If the message is unavailable, the control explains this and links to this policy. Applicable US privacy messages and opt-out controls will be configured before relevant advertising processing begins. Browser cookie settings and Google advertising controls offer additional choices but do not replace required site consent.

Google Tag Manager and analytics choices

ITBank uses Google Tag Manager (GTM-N86NG589) to manage measurement tags. The container loads only after you allow analytics through the site’s analytics choices. Google Analytics measures visits and engagement using cookies after permission; you can decline or reopen Analytics choices in the footer. Advertising consent is managed separately. The no-JavaScript Tag Manager iframe is inactive because it cannot read this consent choice.

Service providers and international processing

Service providers may process information in countries other than the country from which you access ITBank. Their locations and arrangements depend on the services actually used. We do not claim that all information stays within a particular country or region.

Access to information should be limited to the operational, security, publishing or subscription purposes for which it is needed, and to applicable obligations. We do not offer personal information for sale.

Retention and security

Information should be retained only for the relevant purpose and applicable obligations. Where subscriptions are enabled, records are maintained for subscription administration until withdrawal or deletion, subject to any necessary records of requests or legal requirements. Infrastructure providers manage their own technical logs under their service arrangements.

Access controls are used for editorial functions. No website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for your enquiry.

Your choices and requests

You can change the site’s color theme, clear browser storage and choose whether to follow external links. Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion or restrictions concerning personal information. An appropriate identity check may be needed before responding to a request.

Use the verified contact channel listed on the Contact page. Contact [email protected] for privacy requests.

Updates to this policy

The date shown on this page identifies the latest revision. Material changes in services or data use should be reflected here and, where appropriate, brought to affected users’ attention. The terms of a new service should be explained before that service collects information.
